Kilimanjaro for Interstitial Cystitis
Did you know that there are more than 12 million people in the US who suffer with interstitial cystitis (IC)? IC is recurring pelvic pain, pressure, or discomfort in the bladder and pelvic region, often associated with urinary frequency (needing to go often) and urgency (feeling a strong need to go).
We (Heidi and Estelle) have both had the opportunity to learn about IC over the past several years through our work at Aquinox Pharmaceuticals. As IC is not well known and many suffer in silence with few treatment options available, we have decided to help raise funds and awareness for IC patients as part of our trek up Mount Kilimanjaro in August.
Help us help others who suffer with IC by donating directly to the Interstitial Cystitis Association (ICA). ICA is the only non-profit charitable IC organization in the US dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare and lives of people living with IC. Awareness and funding will benefit IC patients in Canada and other regions as well.
ICA relies entirely on donations. You can build hope for IC patients by making your generous donation. We plan to post our progress along the way and will summit on August 19th.
Thank you for supporting ICA! Your contribution is greatly appreciated.
